Kansas City Star lays off about 12 workers
The Kansas City Star laid off about a dozen employees Tuesday, eliminated a similar number of unfilled positions and announced an unpaid weeklong furlough for many of the remaining employees. Tuesday’s job cuts were the third this year, with similar reductions taken in January and May. The furlough, to be taken by the end of the fourth quarter, is the second for most employees this year.
